The Four Families of Instruments

The Harp-String Family. He is plucking the strings to produce sound!

 

The Drum-Percussion Family. He is striking the drums with the drum sticks to create sound.

 

 

The Trumpet- Brass Family. He is producing sound by blowing air inside the brass instrument.

The Clarinet- Woodwind Family. He is producing sound by blowing across the surface. Pressing his lips across the mouthpiece, and causing the reed to vibrate.  

Teaching a Song!

I chose the Good Morning song which is based on the Happy Birthday song! PLEASE ignore my singing, I am horrible but hopefully I did the rest of the assignment right!!! : )

Week 7 The good Vs. bad!

The video I selected for incorrect vocal technique is Roseanne Barr attempting to sing the national anthem...I say attempting because it's pretty tragic! ha! She clearly doesn't have the vocal range required for the song and she seems to be lacking proper technique: Her posture is poor, she is "screaming" from her throat rather than using her diaphragm, and isn't taking herself seriously or even trying to sing in tune.....she's basically a wreck...

The video I selected for correct vocal technique is Josh Groban's video which is awesome because he just grabbed a fan at one of his concerts and then sang great together. Her posture is perfect, her facial expressions (eyebrows rising&movement of her mouth) are correct, she is singing from her diaphragm,  and has the vocal range that is needed to hit the notes in the song. They sounded great!!!
