Rhythm!!! 8/31

Rhythm~ A strong, regular, repeated pattern of movement or sound. So basically....it's a reoccurring pattern of sound.

1) What do you like about the way she presented the information? Why?
- She presented the information in a way that both adults as well as children could comprehend
- Good use of visual aids
- She spoke slowly and was very precise
- She spoke with confidence and seemed knowledgeable about the subject

2) What do you dislike about the way she presented information? Why?
- Although she spoke slowly, the whole lesson seemed rather quick which didn't allow for any student participation.
- She showed very little emotion/excitement while presenting. Young children often need this in order to keep their attention

3) Is this an example of good teaching? Why do you think so?
- Overall, I believe she did a good job! The information was presented in a way that was very easy to understand. The lesson was short, which I guess is probably best when teaching elementary school students. Again, I do feel as though the students most likely were able to understand the concept but I think they would have been more interested if she would have tried to engage them more!

4) How many different ways did she present the information? Why do you think this is important?
- She used primarily teacher-centered approach. I believe she should have tried to incorporate both teacher and child-centered approaches in order to make the lesson more effective. An example would be asking the children make up their own rhythm and then discuss the patterns they noted
-Visual aids were used, which I think a lot of children as well as adults learn more easily from
-Through repetition, often repeating the main points and definitions of the lesson
-Through physical demonstration, I thought she did great when she taught the rhythm via clapping as well as using the visual aid. I believe children learn best when provided with a showing example.
